The Daily Mail is reporting that a hotel in China being used to house individuals exposed to the coronavirus collapsed on Saturday. According to the report, dozens of people are still unaccounted for.
The Xinjia Hotel in China's Quanzhou City has been serving as a quarantine site for those who had come into contact with patients infected with the coronavirus. Around 70 people are believed to have been inside the 80-room hotel when it collapsed around 7:30 p.m. local time. No reason for the collapse has been reported.

People's Daily, China also posted a video showing rescue workers searching through the rubble in an effort to rescue those trapped in the debris. According to the news outlet, 40 people have been rescued, leaving around two dozen or so unaccounted for.

On Saturday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency in New York over fears of the coronavirus spreading. The move comes after 76 people were infected with the virus in the Excelsior state and 10 victims were hospitalized, according to the governor. The state of emergency will expire in six months on Sept. 6, 2020.
