President Trump Donates Quarter Salary to Fight Coronavirus

President Trump defied criticisms of his handling of the coronavirus Tuesday by donating his presidential salary for this quarter toward efforts to fight the epidemic.

President Trump promised during the 2016 campaign that he would donate as much of his presidential salary as possible to governmental agencies or other causes in the American interest. 

President Trump and the administration have received an abundance of criticism for their handling of the coronavirus, but this shows that the president is serious about combating the outbreak. Thus far, nine Americans, all from Washington State, have been killed by the coronavirus.

Democrats in both chambers of Congress argue that the United States is not well-prepared to deal with coronavirus in its full effect:
