During Tuesday night's debate in South Carolina, former Vice President Joe Biden falsely claimed 150 million people, half the population in the United States, have been killed by "gun violence" since 2007.
Democrat Joe Biden blatantly lies as he falsely claims that *150 MILLION* Americans have been killed in shootings since 2007.

That's nearly half the U.S. population. pic.twitter.com/hwkg2YQjZn
First, this claim is obviously false based on sheer population numbers. Second, let's take a look at the real statistics on this issue.
According to the most recent data provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 23,854 Americans committed suicide with a firearm and 14,542 were victims of homicide with a firearm in 2017. The deaths per 100,000 population for suicide was 7.3 and for homicide, 4.5.
Also, presumably this was a mistake on Joe Biden's part but there have not been "150 million people" killed with guns since 2007. There are about 30,000 gun deaths per year and about two-thirds of those are suicides.

Our violent crime and homicide rates are actually about half what they were in the early 1990s. https://t.co/p1uKJKXxYi

You know the Democrat Party is off the rails when no one bats an eye or bothers to correct it when Joe Biden says 150 MILLION Americans have been killed by by gun violence (a completely absurd number).pic.twitter.com/k6M8EfYHeF

Biden's claim of 150 million wasn't just wrong, it isn't anywhere close to reality.
