Going into Wednesday night's MSNBC Democratic debate, we all knew the candidates would immediately launch attacks on former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. After all, it was his first time on the debate stage, he's spent hundreds of millions of dollars on ad buys and he has failed to do television interviews.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) didn't disappoint when she came out swinging and punching at Bloomberg, especially on his sexist past.
"I'd like to talk about who we're running against: a billionaire who calls women 'fat broads' and 'horse-faced lesbians.' And no, I"m not talking about Donald Trump. I'm talking about Mayor Bloomberg," Warren said as the audience gasped. "Democrats are not going to win if we have a nominee who has a history of hiding his tax returns, of harassing women and supporting racist policies like redlining and stop and frisk."
Warren went on to say that she would support whoever the Democratic nominee is. Clearly, she'll have to swallow her pride and back Bloomberg should voters decide he's the one best fit to face President Donald Trump in November's general election.
Bloomberg has come under fire in the past. Back in November, it was revealed that the former New York City mayor told one of his female employees to "kill it" when he found out she was pregnant. He was also accused of for creating a work culture that allows sexual harassment and degradation. According to the Washington Post, Bloomberg made numerous inappropriate, profane and sexist comments about his female employees.
