Over the past few weeks Democratic senators insisted that Hunter Biden's work for the corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings was irrelevant to the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump. It turns out the American people don't agree. In a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, most of those surveyed agreed that Hunter's presence on the board of Burisma, where he raked in thousands of dollars while his dad was vice president of the United States, was "inappropriate." Fifty-seven percent said it was a scandal.
The Biden-Ukraine affair ultimately led to President Donald Trump’s impeachment for pressuring Ukraine to investigate the Bidens. Voters were split 47-47 percent on whether it was appropriate for the Senate last week to acquit Trump, the poll shows.
In contrast, 52 percent of voters believe it was inappropriate for Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, to take the job with the firm Burisma, while 18 percent said it was appropriate. Fifty-seven percent said it was a scandal while 19 percent said it wasn’t. (Politico)
When a Ukrainian prosecutor launched an investigation into Burisma, Vice President Biden reportedly tried to shut it down. President Trump said that's what prompted him to ask Ukrainian President Zelensky to look into the corruption and the Bidens' role in it last July. Democrats accused Trump of using that phone call to try and help his own re-election bid, since Biden was running against him for president. The Democrats tried to get additional witnesses for last month's impeachment trial, but when Republicans mentioned Hunter as one of those potential witnesses, they weren't interested. The amendments to hear from more witnesses and obtain more documents were voted down, and the Senate voted to acquit the president.
At a "Keep America Great" rally with President Trump in Manchester on Monday, Donald Trump Jr. asked the crowd, "Where's Hunter?" He also mused that if he had done the same thing as Biden's son, he "would be in jail right now." The audience heartily agreed.

Also: @realDonaldTrump & @senatemajldr get higher ratings for handling impeachment than Pelosi or Schumer, and Republicans score slightly higher than Dems on impeachment as well. https://t.co/vFS2JmCm6m

Meanwhile, Vice President Biden's presidential run has taken a turn for the worse. But that may be more about his gaffes than Burisma.
