Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) told CNN anchor Jake Tapper on Wednesday that while Democrats in the House of Representatives do not "wake up in the morning wanting to impeach" President Trump, no options are off the table in response to Roger Stone's new sentencing.
Prosecutors in Stone's case had recommended up to nine years of jail for him on the seven counts of obstruction, witness tampering, and making false statements to Congress in relation to the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation into alleged Russian ties to Trump's 2016 campaign.
The length of jail time for Stone changed when the Department of Justice recommended significantly less time. Democrats have accused Trump of personally intervening in his ally's case. All of the prosecutors in Stone's case resigned in response to the new recommendation.
Trump had tweeted the nine year sentence was unfair.

Tapper asked Swalwell, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, if the House would impeach Trump over the Stone's case.
"You know, we’re not going to take our options off the table. We don’t wake up in the morning wanting to impeach him. We want to work with him prescription drugs, background checks, and infrastructure. But we're not going to let him just torch this democracy because he thinks that he's been let off once and we're not going to do something about it," Swalwell said.
Trump was acquitted by the Senate on the two articles of impeachment, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, Democrats passed in the House.
