Fact Check: Bernie's Claim That His Crowd Was 'The Largest in New Hampshire'

Democrats spent the weekend campaigning in New Hampshire ahead of Tuesday’s primary. After defeating party challengers in Iowa, President Trump joined his Democratic challengers in the Granite State.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) claimed that his campaign rally had the largest attendance in New Hampshire this weekend, but let’s see for ourselves.

Sanders’ Rally:

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ Sunday night campaign rally drew a crowd of 1,981 people. Sanders claims that this was the largest crowd in New Hampshire to date.

Sanders’ Monday Night rally at the University of New Hampshire drew a crowd of 7,500 people. AOC joined Sen. Sanders at both rallies.

President Trump's Rally:

President Trump’s rallies highlight his support, which is often overlooked by mainstream media outlets. His New Hampshire rally ahead of the primary was no exception: the president drew a crowd of 11,500 people inside the University of New Hampshire’s arena, with an overflow crowd of 8,000 outside the venue.

It is also worth noting that the same arena President Trump hosted his rally at last night also housed all of the 2020 Democratic candidates on Saturday night, and the arena was not even filled, nor was there any overflow crowd. 

Fact check on Sen. Bernie Sanders:

Sen. Sanders' claim that he had the highest rally attendance is false. Though he may have had the biggest crowd among the field of unappealing Democratic candidates, President Trump's crowd remains the largest.
