If it was a mix of hypersexual entertainment with a bonus political statement you were looking for in Super Bowl LIV’s halftime show, then 2020’s big game didn’t disappoint. The Left and Jeb! loved it. But there were plenty of viewers who were less impressed with what has increasingly become a spectacle that is not safe for the whole family.
Between J-Lo and Shakira, there was crotch rubbing, pole dancing, and double butt shaking—not to mention in outfits that can hardly be called clothing.
Here’s the #PepsiHalftime show that the NFL thought was great for all ages! It featured stripper poles, butt shots with kids standing behind them, adults grinding & gyrating, rope to tie yourself with and plenty of crotch shots! What a wholesome show for little kids to watch. ?? pic.twitter.com/k31U8FD0Yg

An orgy, or the Super Bowl halftime show? ?? https://t.co/S7aWnDPlS9

You call it dancing and entertainment.

I call it what it is: softcore porn
Our society is really crumbling. #SuperBowl #SuperBowlLIV #HalftimeShow
I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time TV in order to protect children. We see that disappearing before our eyes. It was demonstrated in tonight‘s @Pepsi #SuperBowl Halftime Show—w/millions of kids watching.

Disgusting sexualization of halftime “show.” Hope your sons and daughters were not watching

The #SuperBowlLIV Halftime show is like something out of Dante's Inferno. Pray for America.

And of course that was just the sexually-charged part of the show. As for the political aspect, the singers pushed immigration to the forefront. Aside from J-Lo singing "Born in the U.S.A." while draped in a Puerto Rican flag, Lopez's daughter, Emme Maribel Muñiz and other children were shown in cages singing J-Lo's "Let's Get Loud" intermixed with Bruce Springsteen's classic song.
And lest we not overlook this message...Hispanic kids in cages. pic.twitter.com/7ZkN0B5FMP

J-Lo shouts out LOVE for Puerto Rico! Jennifer Lopez and daughter Emme Maribel Muñiz rock the country, “Born in the U.S.A.” blasting strong. Behold the Puerto Rican flag proudly displayed on stage during the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show. pic.twitter.com/uYzY9QySMy

Props to Jlo, Shakira and/or the choreographer for the necessary statement with Latino children in cages singing""Born in the USA". #SuperBowl #SuperBowl #PepsiHalftime pic.twitter.com/gyQDsmXo3l

Whether he was talking about the immigration references or the striptease-or both-Jeb! loved the show.
