Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) hit the campaign trail on behalf of Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) ahead of Monday's highly-anticipated Iowa Caucuses. While in Iowa, Pressley gave a passionate speech about how Warren understands that Americans live their lives in "complexity and intersectionality."
"We live in intersectionality and complexity and nuance and you know that," she said. "I'm not going to go to students and only ask them or talk to them about, and neither will Elizabeth, about student aid. Because we know that they care if their grandmother can age in a community. They care about the solvency of Social Security. They care about climate justice. They care about gun violence prevention. They care about health care justice. "
"I'm not going to just go to our elders and only talk about Social Security and Medicare because they care about if their grandchild goes to a quality school, can afford to buy a home in the community they were raised in, or if they'll be shackled by a $1.6 trillion student loan debt," Pressley said. "Elizabeth's got a plan for that, but she's got a plan for all of it, that is true to how we live our lives, which is in complexity and intersectionality and in nuance. She speaks my love language."
"She knows the power of the pen and the power of policy," the congresswoman said.
Apparently "free" is Pressley's love language.
