Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski officially stated Friday afternoon she will cast a vote against calling new witnesses in President Trump's impeachment trial. The vote will take place late Friday evening.
In her statement about her decision, Murkowski takes a shot at 2020 presidential candidate and Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren for her behavior during the trial.
"Given the partisan nature of this impeachment from the very beginning and throughout, I have come to the conclusion that there will be no fair trial in the Senate. I don’t believe the continuation of this process will change anything. It is sad for me to admit that, as an institution, the Congress has failed," Murkowski released in a statement. "It has also become clear some of my colleagues intend to further politicize this process, and drag the Supreme Court into the fray, while attacking the Chief Justice."
"I will not stand for nor support that effort. We have already degraded our institution for partisan political benefit, and I will not enable those who wish to pull down another," she continued.
Murkowski is referring to Warren's question in the chamber yesterday, which questioned the integrity of Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts. Like other questions, Roberts read it out loud.

Roberts was not amused by Warren's question and neither was Murkowski.
