MSNBC Host Admits Why 'No One' on the Network Will Be Defending Trump

Former Fox News and NBC host Megyn Kelly shared a startling admission from MSNBC on Monday. During his interview on former Sen. Al Franken's (D-MN) podcast, MSNBC host Laurence O'Donnell admitted that "no one" who defends President Trump will be offered any airtime.

O'Donnell also accused MSNBC competitor CNN of being too kind to Trump.

“One third of the people on their payroll love Trump," he argued. "So you’re guaranteed on any hour of CNN to, minimum one third of the programming will be supportive of Trump—someone on their payroll saying, ‘Here’s why Trump’s right.’”

“That’s one of the reasons why Trump kind of wants you to watch CNN instead of MSNBC,” O’Donnell added. “Because he knows on MSNBC there will be no one defending him. Because we don’t bring on liars. I don’t bring on a liar. I won’t do that.”

To suggest that CNN is somehow too pro-Trump is outlandish. All day and night the network adds snarky or misleading chyrons to accompany their news segments, making sure their audience knows that Trump doesn't know what he's talking about or that he's just plain evil. They do it all the time.

For every sarcastic headline, there's a CNN anchor directly contradicting the president during their broadcast, or a flashy White House reporter smugly sparring with the president and his staff on live TV.

But if O'Donnell wants to argue about which network is more biased against the president, then yes I suppose we can concede him the win. His colleagues include Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow. The former has accused Trump of being "Hitlerian," and an "assassin," while the latter has called the Trump administration a "calamity."
