Of Course: Progressive Org Launches Media Blitz Focusing on Impeachment and Claims It's 'Grassroots Activism'

The one thing the Left has always been great at is "grassroots" organizing. We all know that progressive organizations are almost always behind these movements. Just look at the preprinted, professional signs. They all have the same colors, fonts and political messaging. And it's all done by design.

MoveOn, the progressive political action committee (PAC), is now touting their members' "grassroots impeachment events" across the nation.

According to a press release sent to Townhall, the organization has established more than 300 events with more than 50,000 people to take place the day before the House of Representatives votes on articles of impeachment. These events are being dubbed "Nobody Is Above the Law."

"The night before the House of Representatives takes a somber vote to impeach Trump, we'll head to every congressional office and public square to declare that Nobody Is Above the Law as representatives finalize their positions and senators look on," the organization's impeachment website reads.

And guess which organizations are partners? That's right, other well-established, well-funded progressive groups, like MoveOn.org, Need to Impeach, CREDO, #MarchForTruth, By the People, Public Citizen, Indivisible, Stand Up America, Action Group Network, Free Speech People, Women’s March, Mainers for Accountable Leadership, People for the American Way, Center for American Progress, Progressive Democrats of America, DemCast, Democracy for America, Indivisible Chicago, CREW, Act.TV, Greenpeace, Democracy 21, National Action Network, Georgia Alliance for Social Justice and the liberal rag known as the Daily Kos.

Their materials section includes a map showing what districts they want to focus on. The orange areas are the congressional districts where the representative supports impeachment. The gray area – basically flyover – are the congressional districts where the representative opposes impeachment.

And what other materials are "grassroots activists" given? Pre-designed, printable fliers, pre-written letters to the editor, and even pre-written press releases.

There are various chants as well, like:

When democracy is under attack,
What do we do?
Stand up fight back!
When the Constitution is under attack,
What do we do?
Stand up fight back!
When our rights are under attack,
What do we do?
Stand up fight back! (2x)

Hey, hey, Ho, Ho
Donald Trump has got to go
Hey, hey, ho ho
House and Senate can make him go

2-4-6-8 Impeach Trump and don't you wait!

And we can't forget the coordinated billboards and ad buys that are taking place in conjunction with these "grassroots" efforts. There are ad buys in eight Republican-held Congressional districts in Arizona, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Florida.

One of the progressive's main target is Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the youngest Republican member of Congress, and one of the people who asked the hardest hitting questions during the House's impeachment hearings.

"In New York's 21st Congressional District, we aired an ad holding Representative Elise Stefanik accountable for defense of President Trump over supporting the Constitution and urging her to uphold her oath.  The ad ran on This Week, Meet the Press, Face the Nation, 60 Minutes, and cable news shows in the district, and was featured in the Albany Times Union and the Adirondack Daily Enterprise," the group said proudly in their release. "It's already been viewed more than 200,000 times on social media."

This one "movement" alone is a prime example of the swampy behavior that takes place in Washington and what's wrong with politics today. There is absolutely zero grassroots involvement here. A real grassroots effort would be average Americans writing their own messages on handmade signs, standing outside their representatives' office. They wouldn't go to a PAC's website, find every kind of pre-made sign, talking points, press releases and artwork to get their event in order.

True grassroots movements don't have professional publicists, ad buys, coordinated talking points and money up the ying yang. The Tea Party was a true grassroots movement of average people telling the government they've been taxed too much already. And guess what? It was men and women in a community coming together to say "enough is enough." It wasn't an effort by Washington insiders to take down a politician they hate.

But then again, that's the only thing the left is truly good at: buying supporters and spoon feeding them their thoughts.
