Even more reason for him to establish residence in Florida. On Thursday, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Saliann Scarpulla ordered President Trump to pay $2 million in damages in the settlement for the Trump Foundation lawsuit. The president was furious and called out New York Attorney General Letitia James and her predecessor on Twitter for four years of "political harassment" surrounding the lawsuit.

The New York Attorney General's office filed a civil lawsuit under then-New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood last year alleging that Trump, his three eldest children and the Trump Foundation violated campaign finance laws and used charity money for their own personal and political purposes.
Trump denied the charges and excoriated James, to which the AG replied she was simply doing her "duty."

All the Trump Foundation is guilty of, Trump alleged, are "some small technical violations," like not keeping board minutes. The president insists they gave "100 percent" of the funds to charity, and he urged New York to instead investigate the Clinton Foundation.
Trump revoked his New York residency last week due to its high taxes and regulations. He's now a proud Floridian.
