Trump Weighs in on IG Report. Here's What He Had to Say.

President Trump blasted James Comey on Twitter Friday, calling the former FBI director a “dishonest fool,” and commended Attorney William Barr for showing restraint in not prosecuting Comey.

“The disastrous IG Report on James Comey shows, in the strongest of terms, how unfairly I, and tens of millions of great people who support me, were treated. Our rights and liberties were illegally stripped away by this dishonest fool,” he tweeted. “We should be given our stolen time back?”

He continued, noting that Comey “got lucky” for not facing any repercussions for leaking memos.

“The fact that James Comey was not prosecuted for the absolutely horrible things he did just shows how fair and reasonable Attorney General Bill Barr is,” Trump said. “So many people and experts that I have watched and read would have taken an entirely different course. Comey got Lucky!”

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz released an 83-page long report on Thursday that showed Comey violated agency policy and set a “dangerous example” for FBI employees in an attempt to “achieve a personally desired outcome.”

Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton said it was "beyond belief" that Comey wasn't prosecuted.
