What In The World? Miss Michigan Had Her Crown Stripped Because She Refused To Wear A Hijab

Conservative, Trump-supporting Miss Michigan, Kathy Zhu, was stripped of her crown on Thursday. According to the Miss World America (MWA) pageant, Zhu had her title revoked because her "social media accounts contain offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content."

Zhu shared the letter she received from the organization on Twitter:

Zhu responded to the letter, addressing the so-called "inappropriate" tweets.

"A muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. I tweeted about it on my social media account, and it got the attention of the media," Zhu said. "Almost everyone was supportive of me refusing to be put in that situation. Are the people in the MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab?"

According to the Detroit Free Pressthe Muslim Student Association was celebrating World Hijab Day on campus. That's when the incident took place and she followed up with her experiences on Twitter:

There is a 'try a hijab on' booth at my college campus.
So you're telling me that it's now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?

Zhu responded to someone, reminding them that women in the Middle East are frequently punished and stoned for refusing to wear a hijab.

"I said that it was (getting women used to) being oppressed because there are so many women in Middle Eastern countries that are being punished and stoned for refusing to wear a hijab," Zhu told the Free Press. "Nobody is talking about that in the West because all they see is everyone being at peace, but that is the beauty of America."

The other tweet the organization took issue with had to do with black-on-black crime:

Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community before blaming others.

Zhu shared screen captures of her conversation with Michigan's state director about what took place.

This is the epitome of hypocrisy. What happened to being tolerant of other people's personal beliefs? Zhu has a right to her own personal beliefs, including refusing to wear a hijab. That's not being intolerant. That's her respecting her own personal beliefs and convictions. But apparently those don't matter because she's conservative and refuses to give into the left's attempts at pushing her into "cultural appreciation."

Congrats, Miss World America, you're okay with protecting only certain points of view. So much for being tolerant and inclusive.
