Thank You, C-Span: Booker's 2000 Appearance Exposes True Nature Of His 2020 Gun Control Agenda

You know Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) didn’t have to be coy about his anti-gun agenda. Yes, it’s a 16-point plan, but it’s one of those policies that say a lot to hide the true action item. It’s what White House press secretaries do all the time, or anyone in public relations, say a lot without really saying much. Booker’s plan is virtually every gun control position Democrats have peddled for years thrown into a blender to give the liberal media a lot to write about, to shovel this garbage once again to the masses while hiding his true aim: banning guns. It’s not hyperbole. You already see vestiges in it with his declaration to revoke the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act, which protects gun manufacturers from absurd lawsuits where their products were unwillingly and unknowingly used in crimes. With today’s hyper-left Democratic Party, you get activists would abuse this to the maximum to bankrupt America’s gun makers. The fact that he wants every gun owners to be in one federal database is a massive red flag towards gun confiscation. Yet, we all see bits and pieces. Scott Morefield wrote over at The Daily Caller that Booker admitted his true aim back in 2000on C-Span’s Washington Journal; Booker was a Newark councilman at the time:

“Would you ban guns?” asked the CSPAN host during a conversation on the call-in show.

“I am very much one that is against handguns,” Booker responded. “And I know, in my urban environment, I see little to no need for guns at all, and I think that the availability of guns and the ease with which even young people can get their hands on them is just horrendous, and I would, if I had the power to do so, I would. In fact, we’re even looking towards making, doing some local level handgun legislation. I’m going to take every step I can to get guns of the hands of those who commit crimes or those who might commit crimes.”

And make no mistake; banning handguns will lead to an all-out ban on all guns. Any semi-automatic firearm, which is virtually the entire civilian market, will be put in the crosshairs, despite that fact that these weapons have been readily available and owned by law-abiding Americans for decades. To my liberal neighbors, these are not scary firearms. It’s simply a self-reloading system that fires bullet per trigger pull. It’s not an automatic firearm, like the M16A1 rifle that Al Pacino uses at the end of Scarface. I think in the beginning, the Left truly didn’t know the difference between semi-automatic and automatic, but now that they do—they simply don’t care for the sake of their anti-gun narrative.

So, there you have Booker’s admission. Even Newsweek noted that Booker’s anti-gun agenda could have a mixed record in the courts. Well, if we’re going by intention, which is how liberal courts have operated recently (i.e. the legal fight over Trump’s executive order on immigration), then this whole agenda should be trashed. I mean it already is a total piece of unconstitutional garbage. Oh, and Booker didn't necessarily deny that he would toss law-abiding gun owners in jail either.
