Schiff Just Won't Give It Up: 'Undoubtedly, There Is Collusion'

House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) won’t give up on his insistence that there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, arguing that his committee will find it.

“Undoubtedly, there is collusion,” he told the The Washington Post. “We will continue to investigate the counterintelligence issues. That is, is the president or people around him compromised in any way by a hostile foreign power? … It doesn’t appear that was any part of Mueller’s report.”

This demand comes despite an exhaustive 22-month investigation of the matter, ultimately concluding there was no collusion.  

Attorney General William Barr pointed out exactly how extensive the probe was in his summary of Mueller’s report: 

[I]n completing his investigation, he employed 19 lawyers who were assisted by a team of approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff. The Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses. 

A number of Republicans have called on Schiff to step down.

"Adam Schiff should resign," White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Monday morning. "He has no right as somebody who has been peddling a lie day after day after day unchallenged." 

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. and others said much the same.
