The family of former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has shared some personal news: the former lawmaker has pancreatic cancer. Reid, 78, underwent surgery on Monday at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Since his Capitol Hill retirement, Reid has been co-chair of the MGM Resorts International Public Policy Institute. We will continue following his condition.
