Terror Suspect Shot Dead After Holding Hostages in French Supermarket

UPDATE: ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack. It was carried by one of its “soldiers,” the terror group said Friday.

ORIGINAL POST: A gunman took several hostages at a French supermarket Friday, reportedly killing two victims, before being shot and killed by police.

The suspect took six shots at police, swore allegiance to ISIS and yelled, “Allahu Akbar!” and "he is ready to die for Syria" before barricading himself in the supermarket in Trebes.

French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to employ all the resources at his disposal to help the Trebes community.

"Everything leads us to believe it is a terror attack," Macron said in a press conference.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb has been sent to the scene of the attack.
