Filmmaker Kevin Smith, known for cult hits like Clerks, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, suffered a heart attack over the weekend. The doctor who saved his life told him he had "100 percent blockage" of his LAD artery. He shared the news with his fans on Twitter, managing to stay upbeat.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h

Several fans and concerned celebrities shared their well wishes, hoping he'd have a quick and full recovery.
That was all well and good, until Chris Pratt made the mistake of telling Twitter that he was praying for Smith.
Kevin we don’t know each other too good but I have loved you since Clerks and I’m praying my ass off for you cause I believe in the healing power of prayer. Can you please pray with me people!? ???? https://t.co/syB7BiQaoY

Praying for you. I will continue to. You inspired me with Clerks when I was a senior HS. I’m tagging my Lb/rb football coach who showed me the movie cause he believed in me and knew I’d be inspired. @hodge1916 ?????? https://t.co/syB7BiQaoY

Prayer will do nothing to help Smith, some social media users informed Pratt, the same argument some used in the Parkland shooting aftermath.
WTF is praying going to do? Wise up! He’s in hospital, science is the best place for him, diet change and exercise. Not random thoughts by you or anyone else!

"Science" was a common denominator among those who rebuked him.

Prayers won’t help the medication do its job. To help for a heart attack you take acetylsalicylic acid which, in a chenmical reaction, stops prostagladins from being made, which are prothrombotic and proinflammatory, and causes blod clots which are the reason for heart attacks

"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn weighed in to defend the star of his film.
Chris, you have nothing to apologize for. Please, please, please don't delete your tweets.
