Yes, Chris Pratt Was Criticized After Asking for Prayers for Director Who Suffered Heart Attack

Filmmaker Kevin Smith, known for cult hits like Clerks, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, suffered a heart attack over the weekend. The doctor who saved his life told him he had "100 percent blockage" of his LAD artery. He shared the news with his fans on Twitter, managing to stay upbeat.

Several fans and concerned celebrities shared their well wishes, hoping he'd have a quick and full recovery.

That was all well and good, until Chris Pratt made the mistake of telling Twitter that he was praying for Smith.

Prayer will do nothing to help Smith, some social media users informed Pratt, the same argument some used in the Parkland shooting aftermath.

"Science" was a common denominator among those who rebuked him.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn weighed in to defend the star of his film.

Chris, you have nothing to apologize for. Please, please, please don't delete your tweets.
