Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) will make an "announcement" on Thursday, per a statement from his office. On Wednesday, 12 of his Senate colleagues, including nine women, called for him to resign after a seventh woman came forward to accuse Franken of sexual misconduct. DNC Chairman Tom Perez also said that he believes that Franken should resign.
Franken issued a statement saying that this latest accuser was lying. The calls for his resignation came shortly after this statement.
