Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says that he believes the women who accuse Alabama Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore of sexual misconduct, and further, he believes that Moore should drop out of the race. McConnell made these comments on Monday in Kentucky.

McConnell told reporters that he's looking in to see if it would be possible to launch a successful write-in campaign. Possible candidates include Luther Strange, who Moore beat in the Senate primary election.

The Senate Majority Leader said he's looking at other Republican options for the seat, including Luther Strange, who lost the primary to Moore earlier this year.
"We're looking at whether or not there is not someone who can mount a write-in campaign successfully," McConnell said.
A Washington Post article published last week detailed allegations of sexual misconduct against Moore. A woman named Leigh Corfman said that she was 14 years old when Moore took her on several dates and forced her to put her hands on his crotch. Moore has since threatened to sue the Washington Post.
While many Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have said that they think Moore should drop out of the race if the allegations aginst him are true. McConnell is among the first to say outright that he believes Moore's accusers.
Alabama will vote for their new senator on December 12.
