There are still a lot of questions regarding the horrific Las Vegas shooting and its perpetrator, Stephen Paddock. The 64-year old retiree was independently wealthy, gambled a lot, and made a small fortune off of real estate deals. News outlets have tried to piece together his life. He mostly stayed out of trouble, expect for various financial transactions regarding his gambling; he was a high-roller, betting tens of thousands of dollars at times. Then, on October 1, he brought 23 firearms into his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and opened fire on concertgoers below on the final night of the Route 91 Harvest country music festival. Twenty-two thousand people were in attendance; 59 were killed and another 527 wounded. It’s the worst mass shooting in American history. Concerning Paddock’s live-in girlfriend, Marilou Danley, is considered a subject of interest, who was out of the country when he attacked the concert. Her last known location after this horrific tragedy was reportedly in the Philippines. Paddock wired $100,000 to her family days before the shooting, according to Newsweek [UPDATE: Newsweek has retracted that story]:
Newsweek has retracted its story that reviewed the public records of Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock.
The initial report was based on many public records, but included an error that came to light after publication when a family member came forward.
