Looking ahead to the 2020 presidential race, former Vice President Joe Biden is Democrats’ top choice among prospective candidates.
Nearly three-quarters of Democrats viewed Biden favorably, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll released Monday. Sen. Elizabeth Warren came in second, with 51 percent of Democrats favoring the Massachusetts senator.
The June 8-June 12 survey asked registered Democratic voters if they had favorable or unfavorable view of 19 Democratic politicians who are viewed as possible contenders to challenge President Donald Trump in 2020 if he runs for re-election. The president has already started holding campaign rallies and informed the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 20, 2017 (Inauguration Day), that he had raised sufficient funds to qualify as a 2020 presidential candidate.
Sens. Al Franken, Cory Booker, and Tim Kaine were other favorites among the prospective candidates.

Many of the other names on the list lacked name recognition among Democratic voters nationwide.
Last week, Biden said he currently has no plans to run for president in 2020 but left open the possibility if things change.
"I have no intention of running for president, but I'm a great respecter of fate,” Biden told NPR last week.
"I don't have any plans to do it, but I'm not promising I wouldn't do it,” he continued.
Warren also said she is not planning on running for president.
In an interview with Bloomberg's Kevin Cirilli last month, she said "I’m not running for president. I’m running for my election for Senate in 2018, and I announced very early because I want people to know I am all in.”
