NSA Leaker Wanted to 'Burn the White House Down,' Pledge Allegiance to Taliban

In denying bail to NSA leaker Reality Winner for downloading classified material to a thumb drive, the judge said he was concerned over her fascination with the Middle East and Islamic terrorism, as Christine reported Thursday night. But now even more disturbing detailing about the case have been revealed.

Prosecutors said that Winner wrote in her notebook that she planned to burn the White House down and wanted to travel to Afghanistan to pledge her allegiance to the Taliban.

Prosecutors argued that the only thing Winner could do if she were released on bail is be recruited by the nation’s enemies.

Based on evidence seized from her home, federal prosecutors detailed Winner's alleged plans to burn down the White House and travel to Afghanistan, pledging her allegiance to the Taliban.

They said in recorded jailhouse calls, she told her mother how to play her side of the story in the media— as someone who was scared she’d disappear from an interrogation room in her Augusta home after Saturday’s raid.

She also told her sister in a phone call that she planned to play the “pretty, white and cute” card during her bond hearing.

The parents of the 25-year-old leaker claimed in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper Tuesday that their daughter was a “patriot” who “served her nation with distinguished honor.”

They also said she is “not the person that’s being portrayed.”

According to WSB-TV, the government believes Winner’s “alternate side” was not known to those closest to the contractor.
