Police have responded to an incident at Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral Tuesday, where a man has attacked a police officer with a hammer, according to Fox News. The policeman targeted by the attacker shot and wounded him, The Telegraph is reporting.
The authorities are currently clearing the streets.
Social media users posted photos on Twitter showing police asking citizens inside Notre Dame at the time of the incident to raise their hands. This was done to determine they were not intending to assist the attacker.
