Well, if you want another example of Trump Derangement Syndrome, just look to Rep. Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA), who told an 11-year-old girl that President Trump is more dangerous than a terrorist. The East Bay Times reported on this exchange at a town hall event. A girl named Eden was that last questioner, but a staffer read it because it was past her bedtime [emphasis mine]:
My name is Eden, and I’m 11 years old. My mom is worried about my future with President Trump. On election night, my mom cried. Kids at my school are worrying about being deported. I’ve read and heard awful things about him. Should I be worried about my future? As a kid, what can I do about it?”“From the mouths of babes,” DeSaulnier said, apparently affected by the question. And who wouldn’t be? The toxic national discourse is dispiriting enough for adults. To hear that it is trickling down to affect 11-year-olds?
“It’s interesting,” he would say a few days later. “The night before in Richmond, something similar happened. Both instances were a little out of body for me. I sort of responded to the way people were responding to me.”
Back to Eden’s question: “I think you should be concerned,” DeSaulnier said. “This is dangerous stuff. I’ve said a few times, the most dangerous person in America isn’t a terrorist, it’s the person who’s president of the United States. So Eden, you’ve got to read, you have to be thoughtful, and you have to be engaged.”
This is ridiculous. Democrats are telling people that the president of the United States is more dangerous than a terrorist. What drugs do you have to be on to actually believe this is true? It's just another case of Democrats failing to respond to the stinging defeat they suffered last November. They don’t get that their agenda is too far left; they don’t get that more voters view them as more out of touch on the issues than Republicans; and this serving up of red meat, (i.e. bashing Trump and saying he’s worse than ISIS) isn’t going to help them move forward. At the same time, I hope they continue this death spiral. A new ABC News/Washington Post poll showed that while Trump’s approval isn’t solid, virtually no one who voted for him has regrets. Clinton's support, on the other hand, would have dropped six points. If the election were held again today, Trump would still win—and he would also win more popular votes than the former first lady. So, telling kids that Trump is more threatening than a terrorist really isn't going help you win elections, but please keep on whining, left wingers.
