More Bombs? Reports Indicate That Syrian Jets Are Still Able To Take Off From Airfield Targeted In Missile Strike

So, do we need to fire more missiles? We launched a massive strike against the Shayrat airbase that reportedly was the site where the horrific chemical weapons attack was carried out against the town of Khan Shaykhun in the Idlib Province of Syria. At least 80 people, including women and children, died. Responding to the carnage, President Trump fired 60 tomahawk missiles at the airfield, but reports tricked in this afternoon that Syrian fighter jets are taking off from the base to carry out more airstrikes. It’s obvious that we didn’t destroy the runways. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the base itself was not the target, but the installation’s refueling capacity

So, the question is what do we do now? Is this a long-term, concerted air campaign? NBC News’ Richard Engel said that officials told him that this will be a small footprint operation focused on targeted strikes, and that no ground invasion is being considered. We’ll see what happens.
