Thousands of Asylum Seekers Leaving US for Canada, Now Canadians Want Them Deported

The raw numbers are in on asylum seekers leaving the United States for Canada, a trend that has been increasing according to ABC News.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police intercepted 476 border crossers in January and 658 in February totaling 1,134, the two coldest months in Canada.

And according to a new poll, nearly half of all Canadian citizens want asylum seekers deported citing safety concerns.

Respondents said the border crossers will make Canada "less safe."

However, Canada's prime minister has different ideas.

“To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada,” he tweeted in January.
