As many celebrities know All Too Well, wading into the world of politics can be quite Treacherous. Singer Taylor Swift has largely remained silent on the 2016 election, in comparison to her relatively Fearless peers who went all-in for Hillary Clinton.
But now, obviously, Everything Has Changed, and Donald Trump is president. Many of those same celebs who were on the Clinton train found their way to Washington, D.C. (or another Place In This World) and partook in the Women's March to protest against Trump. Swift wasn't one of them, and some people are seeing Red, and trying to stir up some Bad Blood.
Swift tweeted support for the marchers, but did not actually attend one in person.

This prompted some pretty Mean replies, accusing Swift of using the march for her own gain without actually participating.

Can someone Tell Me Why we need a celebrity's comment on every feasible political issue or election? Never in my Wildest Dreams would I rely on a celebrity to tell me how to think, or what to do, or what cause to support. If Swift came out in support of Trump, she'd be shunned or mocked. If she came out for Clinton, her "influence" would have probably changed as many hearts and minds as Tim McGraw, Katy Perry, Lena Dunham, and Madonna all did--that is to say, zero.
Not everyone or every celebrity has to be politically active. Some just live to entertain, and apparently Taylor Swift is one of them--which is perfectly fine. Stay Beautiful, Taylor.
