Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday honoring civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. The FBI, like many people and organizations, tweeted what on the surface seemed like a relatively innocuous tweet to commemorate the day:
Today, the FBI honors the Rev. Martin L. King Jr. and his incredible career fighting for civil rights. #MLKDAY pic.twitter.com/9UEulHmL8a

One small problem: The FBI wasn't exactly too keen on honoring King during his lifetime. Namely, they once sent him a letter blackmailing him and urging him to kill himself.
In light of this, people went to work to criticize the FBI's tweet. Here are some of the best examples.
