Kimberly Guilfoyle a Top Contender For Press Secretary

Sean Spicer may have a strong challenge on his hands to become the next White House press secretary. Fox News’ Kimberly Guilfoyle will have her third meeting with Trump’s staff this week to discuss the position.

Guilfoyle, who currently hosts “The Five,” has been with Fox News since 2006. She has a long history with media and was also the former assistant district attorney in San Francisco. However, it may be her identity that has Trump staffers favoring her for press secretary over other candidates.

“Do you want a white male representing the White House when half the country thinks the President is a misogynist?” a Guilfoyle supporter in Trump’s inner circle said to POLITICO. “Who do you want talking about Immigration? A Latino. When you have to make decisions about pro-life justices, do you want a man or a woman?”

A lot of Trump’s policies regarding the wall on the Mexican border and his overall view of immigration have been viewed as anti-Hispanic to a lot of his critics. His past comments regarding groping women have led other anti-Trumpers to label him a misogynist. Some Trump insiders believe Guilfoyle – a Latina woman – would be a great fit to represent the White House when speaking to media outlets.

Along with Sean Spicer, Katrina Pierson and Laura Ingraham have also been considered contenders for White House press secretary.

A decision is expected by the end of the week.
