State Dept Wants 5 Years to Review Hillary Emails

During a Freedom of Information Act hearing with the conservative group Judicial Watch on Monday, the State Department insisted it needed five years to comb through the remaining 31,000 emails found on Anthony Weiner's laptop that relate to Hillary Clinton's tenure as secretary of state. The hearing was held as part of a lawsuit Judicial Watch filed against State seeking Clinton's communications.

The FBI reopened its investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails on Halloween weekend. Just a week later they determined, once again, that Clinton's mishandling of emails did not justify indictment. Considering how quickly the agency made that conclusion, Twitter users were skeptical about their new timeline.

Twitter users were skeptical.

So too was U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg.

“I’m not satisfied with saying, ‘Fine, go ahead and take five years to do this,'” he said.

Is State delaying because of political reasons? Or do they just want to be extra thorough?
