UPDATE: NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio says although the act does appear to have been intentional, there is no indication at this time it was terrorism.

Twenty five people have been wounded and taken to hospitals in a New York City explosion after an explosion device reportedly from inside or near a dumpster.

Homeland Security and FBI agents are on the scene in addition to more than 100 New York City firefighters.
