First Night at GOP Convention Reminds America of Obama Administration's Deadliest Scandals

Cleveland, OH - As Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton set their sights on the White House, Monday night's speaker lineup at the RNC convention in Cleveland gave us a reminder of the Obama administration's deadliest scandals.

Operation Fast and Furious:

The family of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry delivered a message to the convention via video live from the U.S. southern border. They reminded America about Operation Fast and Furious, a secret 2009-2010 Obama Justice Department program that involved ATF agents illegally trafficking thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels. On December 15, 2010, Terry was killed by illegal Mexican bandits and two guns from the Operation were left at the crime scene. In the summer of 2012, Attorney General Eric Holder was voted in contempt of Congress by Democrats and Republicans for stonewalling the investigation into the scandal.

"I'm hit, I cannot feel my legs, I think I'm paralyzed," Kelly Terry-Willis recalled Brian's last, dying words.

"Brian was supposed to come home to Michigan for Christmas for the first time in three years. Instead of celebrating the holidays with him, we buried him not far from the family home. Two weapons recovered at the scene were traced to the Obama Administration's doomed 'Fast and Furious' gun-tracking operation. No one was ever held accountable for its failure," Kent Terry, Brian's brother said.

Extortion 17:

Karen Vaughn is the mother of fallen SEAL Team 6 member Aaron Vaughn. Vaughn was killed along side 30 other Americans, most of whom were SEALs, on August 6, 2011 when their helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan. The attack came just three months after the killing of Osama bin Laden. Vaughn and her husband, Billy Vaughn, have argued restrictive rules of engagement led to his death. The Obama administration has also been accused of a cover-up surrounding the investigation of the shoot down.

"There is no adversary the U.S. military cannot defeat if we can unbind them from the restrictive, ludicrous rules of engagement they've been forced to fight under for the last seven years," Vaughn said.

Benghazi:

First the mother of Sean Smith, an information officer who was killed in Benghazi, laid responsibility for her son's death at the feet of Hillary Clinton.

"My son Sean was one of four brave Americans killed during the 2012 terrorist attack at Benghazi. Sean was a wonderful son and father to my two amazing grandchildren, Samantha and Nathan, now 10 and 11. He was proud to serve his country with the United States Foreign Service.  The last time I talked to Sean, the night before the terrorist attack, he told me, 'Mom, I am going to die,' Pat Smith said. "For all of this loss, for all of this grief, for all of the cynicism the tragedy in Benghazi has wrought upon America, I blame Hillary  Clinton. I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son."

Finally, Benghazi annex security team members and "13 Hours" authors Mark "Oz" Geist and John "TIG" Tiegen detailed their first hand account of the Benghazi attack.

"Thank you America for showing us the support and dedication that should have been offered by Hillary and her State Department to those who saved their butts," Geist said.

"Benghazi is not about politics. It’s about opportunities. Opportunities taken when we defied stand down orders and opportunities squandered when Hillary Clinton failed to protect her people on the ground. Had she done her job, we would not have had to compromise the  annex," Geist continued. "Ty, Glen, Sean, and Ambassador Stevens would be alive today."
