Ted Cruz: "Of Course" I'd Fire Corey Lewandowski If He Were My Campaign Manager

At a CNN town hall event in Milwaukee, moderator Anderson Cooper asked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) if Corey Lewandowski (Trump's campaign manager who was arrested for battery earlier today) should be fired.

Cruz's answer? "Of course" he would have fired Lewandowski if he were on his team, saying that it wouldn't have been a complicated decision. Cruz then went on to characterize the Trump campaign as one built on attacks and personal insults.

“Of course. Look, it shouldn’t be complicated. The members of the campaign staff shouldn’t be physically assaulting the press," Cruz said.

“It’s consistent with the pattern of the Trump campaign. … A campaign built on attacks, on insults," he added.

UPDATE: When it was Trump's turn to speak in the town hall, he assured Cooper that Lewandowski would be staying on as campaign manager.
