Surprise: Feds Arrest Two Middle Eastern Refugees on Terror Charges

Today has been a rough day for the Left's narratives, between the pro-ISIS fanatic who shot a police officer "in the name of Islam" (with a stolen police gun, to boot), Hillary Clinton's massive new political and legal email headache, and -- oh, by the way -- this:

Two Iraqi refugees arrested this week on federal terror-related charges were in communication with each other, a law enforcement official told CNN. Both men are Palestinians who were born in Iraq and came to the United States as refugees, according to the U.S. Justice Department. And both are accused of lying to immigration officials about their alleged ties to terrorist organizations. The two men were arrested Thursday. Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, 24, of Houston, was charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS. Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, 23, of Sacramento was charged with making a false statement involving international terrorism. Citing social media communications, the criminal complaint against Jayab said he spoke with an unnamed Texas resident about weapons and training in Syria. That unnamed individual is Hardan, according to the law enforcement source. "I need to learn from your weapon expertise," the individual wrote to Jayab, according to the complaint. In his reply, Jayab wrote, "We will make your abilities very strong," according to authorities.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened either, by the way.  The good news, apparently, is that not every tentacle of our national security apparatus is deliberately ignoring social media posts of potential jihadists inside the United States.  The White House, which had no comment on the ISIS-inspired police shooting in Philadelphia, didn't have much to say about this either:


No comment, except to scold domestic skeptics and critics of Obama's refugee policy, which is understandably unpopular with the American people. Republicans have called for a pause in accepting additional Syrian refugees until screening protocols are strengthened. The Obama White House dismisses this approach as contrary to American values, or whatever, and a "recruiting tool" for ISIS.  They insist -- even in light of the San Bernadino failures -- that US vetting processes are robust and reliable.  This is the same administration that allowed the two refugees just arrested on terrorism charges into the country (in 2009 and 2012), and green-lit one to become a permanent legal resident (in 2011). Before you go, click the following links -- seriously, please do -- for a sense of how the assimilation process of young, male, Muslim refugees and asylum seekers is going in places like Norway, Austria, Finland, and especially Germany.  Good Lord.  Are we allowed to talk about any of this, or are unsettling facts too "improper" to merit discussion in polite circles?
