Twelve Pipe Bombs Found in House in San Bernardino

The Associated Press is reporting that 12 pipe bombs were discovered in a house that was searched following yesterday's shooting in San Bernardino, CA. Fourteen people were killed and 21 were wounded in the shooting, and the two suspects were killed in a shootout with the police.

Police say they found 12 pipe bomb devices at a California home being searched in connection with a mass shooting as well as hundreds of tools that could be used to make improvised explosive devices.

San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said at a news conference Thursday that the attackers also left a device at the social service center where they opened fire. The device consisted of 3 connected pipe bombs with a remote control that apparently did not work.

NBC News was the first to report that a remote controlled bomb, not unlike those used in the Boston Marathon attack, was left at the scene of the shooting. The remote control detonator apparently failed.

Further, law enforcement officials announced that the suspected shooter, Syed Rizwan Farook, was "in touch with" international terrorism suspects.
