Baby Part Scandal: Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards to Testify In Front of House Oversight Committee

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards will testify in front of the House Oversight Committee next week as lawmakers investigate how the abortion giant uses more than $500 million in taxpayer funds each year. Planned Parenthood has been under fire and threatened with defunding after a series of undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress showed different Planned Parenthood officials from around the country selling baby parts, haggling over prices for those parts and in some cases, proposing the sale of baby cadavers in order to keep parts of value "intact."

Richards has had a difficult time explaining the sale of baby parts at Planned Parenthood clinics, but has argued the organization must maintain taxpayer funding in order to provide communities with healthcare. Legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, which was recently voted down in the Senate but will likely be reintroduced, would reallocate funding to other community health clinics.
