Since the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl last weekend, President Obama and officials in his White House have argued that regardless of the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl's "capture," the United States never leaves our men behind.
But according to former platoon Sgt. Justin Gerleve, who spent weeks looking for him after he allegedly deserted, Bergdahl left his country and fellow soldiers behind.
"I believe he was a deserter," Gerleve said in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity last night. "He left his fellow soldiers, leadership and his country behind when he left."
Gerleve's words back up statements made by platoon Sgt. Evan Buetow about Berdahl openly seeking out the Taliban, suggesting that not only he was a deserter, but a enemy collaborator as well.
