Why NYC’s Mayor Can No Longer Complain About the Illegal Immigration Crisis

I had high hopes for Eric Adams. He won New York City’s mayoral race without selling his soul to the progressive Left. It’s one of the reasons why progressives opposed his candidacy, or, at least, were wary about a former cop succeeding Bill de Blasio, who didn’t need their votes to win. They want to challenge Adams in 2025 but can’t find anyone. Adams promised more law and order, reactivating the anti-crime plainclothes unit, which I’m sure gave liberals night sweats.

Last September, with illegal aliens storming into the Big Apple, Adams was caught saying the quiet part out loud about the current immigration crisis. If this continues, it will destroy the city. Yet, as with anything regarding Adams’ mayoralty, it falls short. He disappoints as it goes with the lion’s share of politicians. You’d think after those remarks, he’d issue a crackdown, especially after a swarm of illegals just beat up two cops and were released without bail. To no one’s shock, they’ve fled the city. And now, the city is going to hand out pre-paid credit cards to migrant families (via NY Post):

Mayor Eric Adams’ administration will soon start handing out pre-paid credit cards to migrant families being put up in Big Apple hotels, The Post has learned.

The $53 million pilot program, run by the New Jersey company Mobility Capital Finance, will provide asylum seekers arriving at the Roosevelt Hotel with the city cash to help them buy food, according to city records.

It’ll start with a group of 500 migrant families in short-term hotel stays and will replace the current food service offered there, according to City Hall.

The cards can only be used at bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores — and migrants must sign an affidavit swearing they will only spend the funds on food and baby supplies or they will be kicked out of the program.

The Immediate Response Card initiative appears akin to the state’s food stamp program, dubbed SNAP, which provides lower-income New Yorkers with a credit card to cover the cost of meals, and will provide funds based on the same scale.

We were told the city’s resources were stretched thin due to this crisis and that all areas of city spending could be subjected to drastic cuts. Yet somehow, $53 million was cobbled together to give illegal aliens pre-paid credit cards. Adams can’t whine about illegal immigrants flooding the city anymore—he just intensified the magnet that draws these people here. Meanwhile, students are now forced back into remote learning. It’s not because of COVID; it’s due to their schools being repurposed as refugee camps for illegal aliens.

It's one of the main reasons why Donald Trump is beating Joe Biden with Latino voters in the Empire State. It's become out of control, thanks to Joe.
