After former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris’ debate last week, singer Taylor Swift announced on Instagram that she would be voting for Harris.

Swift has over 284 million followers.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” Swift wrote. “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

She added that she felt “heartened and impressed” by Walz because he protects her right to kill her unborn children.

Swift concluded her post urging her followers to go vote.

A poll released days after Swift’s endorsement found that her announcement made

The poll, which was conducted by ABC News/Ipsos, found that a mere 6 percent of voters said that Swift’s endorsement would sway them to vote for Harris. Thirteen percent said the opposite, indicating that it makes them less likely to vote for Harris.

The vast majority, 81 percent, said that Swift’s endorsement would not influence how they vote, period. The survey was conducted from Sept. 11-13.

Trump responded to Swift’s endorsement of Harris, stating “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Over the weekend, Trump survived a second assassination attempt. This occurred while he was golfing at Mar-a-Lago. This is the second attempt on Trump’s life in two months.
