Trump Takes Cheap Shot at Hugh Hewitt Over Tax Return Question

Donald Trump’s tax returns have been the subject of much inquiry lately, with many wondering whether he’s got something to hide by not having released them. During Thursday night’s debate, however, Trump insisted that he is audited every year and he’s currently in the middle of an audit, thus he’s not releasing them at the moment. He promised that as soon as the audit was over he would.

“A year ago you told me on my radio show—the audio and transcript are out there on YouTube—that you would release your tax returns,” Salem radio host Hugh Hewitt pushed back. “Are you going back on your commitment?”

The question was by no means hostile for a debate setting, yet Trump felt the need to insult Hewitt’s ratings on his radio show.

Totally unprovoked and completely uncalled for. What a disgrace.
