Grassley: Bring in a Special Counsel to Investigate Clinton's Uranium One Deal

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley called on the Justice Department late Tuesday to appoint a Special Counsel to thoroughly investigate the ongoing Uranium One scandal.

In terms of recusal, Grassley is referring to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself from any case related to the 2016 presidential election earlier this year.

During an interview with Fox News Tuesday night, Grassley continued to call on the Justice Department to lift a gag order on an FBI informant with information about the Uranium One deal.

Grassley has been investigating allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, in addition to the handling of the FBI criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton by former Director James Comey, over the past year. Recently, Grassley revealed Comey started drafting a letter exonerating Clinton of criminal charges months before agents had interviewed her or completed their investigation in 2016.
