Democrats are increasing their calls for illegal immigrants in the United States to be included for checks being sent out by the United States government as part of the coronavirus relief stimulus package.
Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) told Univision because many undocumented immigrants are still working in essential businesses and are risking exposure to the Wuhan coronavirus, they must also be getting taxpayer dollars.
"Millions of undocumented [immigrants] who work hard, and they're outside on the streets now exposing themselves to getting sick, who should also receive this kind of protection," he said.

Espaillat is not alone in his push for illegal immigrants to get money. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told United States national team player Megan Rapinoe that those who are undocumented should be getting the checks.

She also encouraged illegal immigrants to participate in the upcoming 2020 Census.
