House Judiciary Committee Votes to Hold Barr in Contempt

The House Judiciary Committee has voted to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress for failing to produce the full, unredacted Robert Mueller Russia report. It was a party line vote, 24-16. He released a 400-page redacted version, yet the DOJ said it was willing to offer 92 percent of it. The rest was reportedly legally forbidden. That wasn't enough for House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who insisted they needed all or nothing. Meanwhile Republicans were outraged that their colleagues were trying to force Barr to break the law.

President Trump invoked executive privilege on Wednesday in response to Nadler's demands.

Now that the contempt resolution is out of committee, it heads to the full House.
