The 2016 election left us a nation divided. It’s been six months since Donald Trump assumed office as the 45th President of the United States, and yet both sides (albeit one more than the other) are still spewing hate and pointing fingers. 

But whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican or somewhere in between, there’s one thing we all have in common: we’re Americans. So in light of Fourth of July, here are nine cartoons that remind us of what being an American is truly about.
