I have lost count of how many times I've been told I suffer from "internalized misogyny" and "support the patriarchy" for my views on abortion. When I was in college, I was "pro-choice" because I was young and stupid. But I soon learned that abortion was not a right, and the Left wanted it to be anything but "safe, legal, and rare." I now oppose abortion entirely. There is no reason for it, not in a world where birth control is ubiquitous and cheap to the point of free. There is no medical condition that is treated or cured by abortion, either, even if the Left lies and tries to reclassify treatment of ectopic pregnancies or miscarriages as "abortions." Up until recently, even Planned Parenthood rejected that definition.
Not only does abortion end an innocent life — tens of millions of them in America alone since Roe v. Wade in 1973 — it harms women, who are often coerced or forced to have abortions. Women who suffer physical and mental trauma from abortion are also dismissed or demonized by the very industry that claims to have their best interests in mind. Speaking of women's best interests, a lot of unborn women are murdered in utero in sex-selective abortions; those abortions are done for no other reason than the parents don't want a girl. It doesn't matter if that's a cultural thing or not. It's depraved and morally offensive.
But the so-called champions of women are silent about it.
This video came across my timeline, and my gut tells me it's faked for social media clout. Or maybe my brain is trying to protect me from the horror that would follow if it were actually real. Either way, a woman was filmed taking an abortion pill after she learned she was pregnant with a girl.

Then her mother took chemical abortion pills on camera after finding out she was pregnant with a girl.

With each of my pregnancies, we learned the baby's sex at the 20-week ultrasound. All three of my babies turned out to be boys. My mind cannot comprehend the depravity and hatred needed for me to learn I was having a son and not a daughter (and I would have liked a daughter) and to terminate the pregnancy because I didn't like the hand genetics dealt me.
My sons are the best thing about my life, and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
Real or fake — and both possibilities are vile — this video shows we have a very real problem in America. Make no mistake, the Dobbs decision was a win for women and their unborn children. But as I said in 2022, we need to change the culture and not just the laws. Of course, laws help, and the Biden administration repealed pretty much all of them when it comes to the chemical abortion drug. It's so easy to obtain now that my 13-year-old son could go online and order it if he wanted to. Men, including a high-profile surgeon in Ohio, have done that to poison their pregnant wives/girlfriends and force abortions.
So much for my body, my choice.
But restoring laws only goes so far. We've clearly seen that certain segments of our culture not only think abortion is a right, but that it's a good and even a moral thing. That's why a slew of women stood outside and cheered for child killer Lindsay Clancy. If they can kill a child who is fully formed in the womb for any reason (and that's legal in Massachusetts, where Clancy lives), the next logical step is killing born children, and for the same sick reasons. Clancy supporters say her children harmed her mental health, caused "postpartum psychosis," and paint her as the victim and not the babies she systematically strangled in the basement of her house. A juror who voted to find her not guilty by reason of insanity even admitted Clancy "viciously" murdered her children, but that didn't matter to her as much as her feelings.
We have to return to a culture where motherhood and pregnancy are celebrated, where abortion is treated as the abuse of women and children that it is, and where women who harm their children face justice.
