Golf superstar Tiger Woods has been transported to a local hospital with injuries following a car crash on Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse Road in Ranchos Palos Verdes, California. He was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle and was rescued from his car after the rollover crash by a "jaws of life," according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The crash occurred at 7:12 a.m. Pacific time.

His vehicle is reported to have "major damage."

Local reporters shared footage of the wreckage.

Woods' agent Mark Steinberg released a statement on the accident: "Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support."

Woods won the Masters in 2019 and has 82 official PGA Tour titles. The 2021 Masters Tournament was right around the corner, scheduled for the beginning of April. Asked just this week if he hoped to play in it, Woods said, "God, I hope so."
