Maxine Waters on Why Super Committee Should Be Stopped

The so-called congressional super committee is the wrong vehicle to carry out policy and is "illegitimate," Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., said in an interview with Loop21 on Wednesday.

Suggesting that House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, benefited from the debt-ceiling negotiations that resulted in the formation of the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, Waters said she wants to "repeal the super committee."
